Tina visited Israel for her second time in June. She spent a holiday weekend with a backyard beekeeper, and did some beekeeping with her and another member of their Sustainable Beekeeping group, and learned some interesting dangers in Israeli beekeeping. Then she spent a few days working with one of the biggest honey producers in Northern Israel, and got to see the commercial beekeeping aspect. Add in a day with a bee extension specialist conducting scientific experiments, and she learned some new information about bees and mite control. Along the way, she met many intriguing characters and, in the end, got stuck there during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran. She’ll share the adventure and escape.
