Swarms
Swarm capture is a free community service of our members. If you see a swarm of bees please call our dispatcher as soon as possible so that a beekeeper can rescue the bees before they find a new home in someone’s attic or wall. Swarms of bees that are not rescued and cared for by beekeepers have only a 25% chance of survival. Your quick call can save some bees! We’ll need to know how long the bees have been there, what they are hanging on, how far off the ground, and what size the ball of bees is (a basketball, grapefruit, etc). Bees that are already inside a cavity and exiting through a small hole will need what is called a “structural removal”. This is much more difficult and is not a free service, but we do have beekeepers that can help you with this. Earlier in the season is better for the bees than later, so that they have plenty of time to build new honeycomb and make honey for winter. Thanks for calling!
PLEASE ONLY USE THIS NUMBER FOR SWARMS!
